The Westfield NJ community provides a top notch education for our children. Westfield Public Schools oversees the public education for kids in grades K-12. Washington Elementary School is one of the public schools in Westfield that parents and children love. So, as you can image, the homes located within this school's district are an attractive commodity.
According to the March 2015 Market Update for the Washington School in Westfield, NJ, 18 homes were sold within the school's boundaries between September 12, 2014 and March 12, 2015. This was exactly the same amount that were sold the previous year. The average property price was $720,472, an 11.2% decrease from the $811,262 reported one year prior. The only property currently on the market in the Washington School district has a list price of $1,200,000.
Washington School homes sold for an average of 1.7% less than their list price. The oldest property sold between September 2014 and March 2015 in this area was built in 1908. This 4 bed/1.5 bath home on Lenox Ave was listed at $599,000 but sold for $590,000 after less than a month on the market. Two homes sold in less than 10 days: a 4 bed/1.5 bath Harding St home built in 1948 went for 3% over list price in just eight days while a 5 bed/4.5 bath newly constructed home on Benson Pl sold at list price before it was even on the market!
