A Realtor can be a great asset to Buyers and Sellers who will be relocating.

How would you find a REALTOR  if you were moving to another Town or State?

Yes the agent you call may be happy to work with you but will they be learning on the job as they go or are they familiar with the type of home and community you are looking for? I have met so many buyers who relocate to our area only to find they  have wasted almost all their house hunting time with an agent that did not listen or was not  familiar with where their target area was.

The agent referring you will take care to find the right type of agent to refer you to. I know when we refer you if we do not know the agent personally we will do a phone interview to help determine their knowledge. We will reach out to our network of agent Friends across the country to get recommendations. We look to find  agents who are the BEST in the area and  type of real estate you are interest in buying or selling.

For example I recently received a call from an agent who worked  50 miles South of the Alexandria, Virginia area.  She had a buyer who was interested in finding a home and she felt that she could not offer the level of service she  would want to give them with such a long drive especially on unpredictable I-95.  Northern Virginia Traffic and 50 miles  can be a recipe for long hours on the road and an excellent chance of running late to an appointment no matter what time you leave. This is when a network of REALTORS is invaluable to help service out buyers and sellers.

The agent put a call into me to see if I had time to work with the buyers since I was only 15 minutes from the buyers target area and I knew the area like the back of my hand!  The referring agent knew her clients would be in good hands and would have a  less stressful transaction by referring them to me. The agent introduced the by email and  I immediately called and booked an appointment with them to meet. They expected the process to take some time to find the right home.  It only took  two weeks  and three meetings to find we the home they were looking for. I am happy to say they closed on their home just four weeks after meeting with me for the first time.

It this fast paced market we are in this Spring a REALTOR must make decisions based on what is best for the buyer or seller and sometimes that means referring them to an associate that can best service them.

The referral system  works just as well when relocating to or from any other state.
