Some consider the Shama's voice to be the most beautiful of all the world's songbirds. It's voice is both rich and melodious and they usually combine a serious of many notes in a short song, with some unusual variations. They'll often mimic other birds or make a 'Tck' call when they are foraging for food in the undergrowth of low trees and shrubs.
Leave this YouTube video playing in the background as you work for awhile. The bird takes a couple of minutes to warm up to full-throated song but then you'll hear the sounds that surround me every morning here in paradise! (This bird is caged which is not common here, but it did make it easier to record!)
