"Being an agent is actually about building relationships"

Says my friend and client, Michael Unis of BHHS NJ Properties.

Michael's a younger agent who has achieved great success by remaining true to his core values at all times because that's who your clients are really going to see. I was recently fortunate enough to sit down with him recently to share his tips for building relationships with agents nationwide.

Read full story, or enjoy a few quick tips here:

Take off your Realtor hat. Step out of your role as a Realtor and truly focus on building real relationships with business contacts. He does this through a perfectly fine-tuned Client Appreciation Program that includes quarterly calls, housewarming gifts, catered meals at his home, and much more.

Be consistent. Keep your client experience consistent. For example, everyone that is a part of his Client Appreciation Program earns the same benefits, regardless of someone's home buying or selling status.

Success looks a lot like failure. His advice to rookies? "Be wise enough to know things will go wrong or not exactly how you intended or thought they would." Success may be hard to see at first, but the long term payoff will surface.

Great advise. I agree that relationships are really the corner stone of our business. Thanks for sharing.
