Throwback Thursdays - For 25 You Get Silver

John and Bertah Walczyk with Nancy LaswickOnce again we enter the "wayback" machine and are transported back in time to Depew N.Y. just outside Buffalo a little more than fifty-five years ago for a family celebration.

This is a photo of my maternal grandparents John and Bertha Walczyk. Grandpa John is holding me.

I have no memory of the event, (I was probably less than 6 months old), and there was no information on the back of this photo but I'm pretty sure this was a party for their 25th Wedding Anniversary.

The silver service is sort of a clue along with the other gifts. Don't you love the clock, they were very popular back then, I'd love to have one that works.

Looking at my grandmother I'm pretty sure my mom inherited her "happy face" from her mother just as I inherited mine from her. Thanks Mom!

That was probably a set from Oneida in upstate NY as well.  That clock was on so many walls way back them.  I still think my parents have one on the wall in the basement

Hi Nancy, Look on the table beside the phone. I do believe that is a Hummel figurine. Yes, I have to agree, you do look a part of your grandmother's side of the family.
