A Business With No Sign is A Sign of No Business -- Maybe!

They say a business with no sign is a sign of no business, but what about a business with a BAD sign?

Perhaps the company has a name that tells you nothing about what you'll find inside.

Perhaps the font is so small that you can't read it while driving by.  There is a new company I have driven by every day for the past two months and I still do not know what it is!  Imagine that!  How do you get business if people SEE your place of business but don't know WHAT business it is?

So take a walk outside and look at your sign.  Can drivers read it easily while www.teamdaves.compassing by?  Is the font large enough to be easily read?  Is the type of business easily recognized?

And remember what looks good on a business card might not necessarily look good at 40 mph!

So many real estate signs are hard to read from a distance.  Colors are bad.

Oh no, now its stuck in my head  . "Signs, signs, everywhere is signs, don't do this don't do that can you read the sign"?

I saw a For Sale sign yesterday; I had to pull off the road, get out and walk up to it so that I could read the tiny font!

I don't expect real estate agents to be graphic arts experts.  We tell people to hire a professional when they sell their homes. Maybe real estate agents should hire a professional to create their logos and signs.

Russ - I agree!  That's one reason we like being with a well-known brand -- everyone recognizes your sign.

Rob - I could think of worse songs to be stuck.  Today let's go with "Don't Worry, Be Happy"

Fred - Makes it hard to sell if you can't even read the sign!!

Eric - Good advice!

Funny - I wasn't necessarily speaking of REAL ESTATE signs but in generality of ALL businesses.   The sign I drive by daily says "XXXXX Agency in big letters then a tiny font that IF you can read it (took me driving by 15-20 times) says some company they are affiiated with that still doesn't tell me what they sell.  Agency?  Is it an ad agency? Insurance agency?  Modeling agency?  FBI agency?

That does sound like poor business planning.   Hope someone tells this business owner, to entice those driving by to come in!
