The 2015 Shell Houston Open is underway and this year's total purse is $6,600,000 with the winning share being $1,188,000.
This year's Shell Houston Open is being held one week prior to the The Masters.
Matt Jones is the defending champion. Net proceeds of the tournament benefit Houston Area worthy causes. Houston is the 10th oldest stop on the PGA TOUR. The Golf Club of Houston Tournament Course, designed by renowned architect Rees Jones, was constructed to be both spectator friendly and a challenge to competitors.
Shell Oil Company has been the title sponsor of the event since 1992. The current title sponsorship agreement is through 2017.
