One of our favorite Amherst NH events. Located at Wilkins Elementary School, don't miss it!
The Amherst Garden Club holds its annual plant sale on the day before Mother's Day. This is the perfect time to start on your NH gardening and to get Mom a colorful Mother's Day gift!
This year, the plant sale will be on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 8:30AM - 1:00PM at the Wilkins Elementary School [80 Boston Post Road] in Amherst. During the month of April, Garden Club members dig up perennials, small bushes, and ground covers from local gardens and pot them. You can count on our plants doing well in NH gardens. After the long winter we have had this year, you may find that you could use some new plants. If you have gardens that need to be thinned out and divided, we are glad to offer you this service. Garden Club members are also available to identify plant species and help with plant choices if you are new to the area in a new home. If you are interested in these services, please email Marti Warren at martiwarren@comcast.net, [603-673-7054]. We like to dig plants as early as we can and our dig times fill up quickly, so please let us know early. We are confident that the lingering snow piles and changeable weather will clear up eventually this spring!
Amherst Garden Club members, many of which are Master Gardeners, will be on hand at the plant sale to answer questions about gardening in and around your Amherst NH homes. An information booth will be available to assist you. The sale features a section with local vendors. The Book/Magazine Table sells gently used garden books and magazines at great prices. We have a raffle table that is very popular every year, this may be your lucky year! Stop at the bake sale table, it is always a favorite; you can pick out a Mother's Day treat for the family.
The Amherst Garden Club's Annual Plant Sale has become a tradition in Amherst NH that gardeners all over southern NH attend. It is a wonderful event and we encourage all to come. Get there early as our 2000 perennials go quickly! We are open RAIN or SHINE...
