For years I lived in Suwanee and never heard anything about Everett's Music Barn. Then when I began selling new homes in the Stonecypher neighborhood, I kept passing this Red Barn in the back of a local house. One day I was talking to one of our homeowners and he told me they were closing it because most of the family that lived there and ran it had passed away. It was so sad to learn about all the great groups that had come there and played Bluegrass music for years. I lived just over a mile away and had never experienced it.
Not too long after that he told me that several people had gotten together and purchased the property to keep the tradition alive. There are now shows there on Saturday nights beginning at 8:00 pm and it is an alcohol free venue.
On Saturday, April 18th, the Annual Spring Benefit Day will be held with all proceeds going to help maintain the barn and keep it open for these wonderful events. The music starts at 2:00 pm. At 5:00 pm there will be an old fashioned covered dish supper.
Special guests that day will be "Adkins and Loudermilk". But there will be multiple bands performing there during the afternoon and evening.
