This is the blog post you've been waiting for. This post will tell you the secrets to becoming a successful real estate agent.
Consistency is Key
Being a real estate agent isn't easy. Being a successful real estate is harder still. Although the "secret" to becoming a successful real estate agent is easy in theory, it is difficult to practice. That "secret" is Consistency. Consistency in good times and bad will bring positive results in the end...every time.
Consistency in Prospecting
If you don't want to reinvent the wheel after every transaction, you need to keep a steady stream of people in your pipeline. It is not uncommon for a successful agent to have well over two dozen people in their pipeline at any given time. All of those people may not be ready to buy or sell immediately, but at some point they will be ready. Successful agents are constantly adding people to their pipeline. They do this by making phone calls, sending handwritten notes, emailing their newsletter and reminding family, friends and past clients that they are a real estate agent. Not only do they remind everyone they know that they are a real estate agent, they aren't afraid to ask for referrals. Successful agents do so much prospecting that it becomes second nature to them. Not a day goes by that they don't ask someone for a referral.
Consistency in Marketing
How do you let people know you are a successful real estate agent? You tell them! Believe it or not people will forget that you are a real estate agent. Even your family and friends will forget. When you get a new listing or have a settlement, let people know. Whether you use direct mail or social networks, you need to let people know that you are busy working. Contrary to popular belief you don't have to spend a lot of money on marketing if you don't want to. Social media is an excellent marketing tool for keeping your name in front of your sphere of influence. When you keep the "social" in social media, you will see results.
Consistency in Service
Everything the successful real estate agent does and says is for the benefit of their client. Successful agents deliver five star customer service. They carefully listen to their clients needs, whats and desires and give sound advice based on that information. They aren't pushy or slimy. They genuinely care about the well-being of their clients. Although they earn a great deal of money for what they do, money isn't the driving force of their business. They love what they do and they do it exceedingly well. As a result of their stellar service, they are rewarded with referrals from their clients.
Consistency in Education
Successful real estates are lifelong learners. It doesn't matter how many years they have been an agent, they are constantly looking for better ways to serve their clients. Successful agents stay current on market trends, financing options, laws and regulations and technology. This not only helps them become better agents, but it allows them to better serve their clients. And for successful agents, serving the client is what it's all about.
