Spring Has Arrived in Colorado

The weather in Colorado is always a mixed bag.  The weather forecast dudes seem to get it right about half the time.  I understand that it is hard to predict our weather with the Rocky Mountains playing havoc on the weather pattern, but it would be nice to know two days out what is going to happen.

This past week has been mild and warm and the trees and plants are beginning to think it is time for them to poke their heads out from their winter slumber.  Hopefully, snow and freeze is not in the forecast anytime soon.  In fact, I would be OK if snow and freezing temperatures did not make a return until about November of 2015.  Hey – a girl can dream.

As I went outside this morning, I noticed the flowering crab apple tree in my front yard had somehow bloomed flowers over night.  I love these trees.  There are plenty of them in my neighborhood in light pink, dark pink and white.  Ours is white and it gets a million of these beautiful blooms making for some great eye candy.

Here is an iPhone shot of the first blooms which I captured this morning.

Oh how I love spring!!!!

Hi Belinda - Pretty pictures. We're lagging just a bit on the blooms, but we have a couplke of trees that look ready to pop - like you, I hope they're not being too impatient.

Hi Belinda Spillman ,  There sure is a lot of happy people around the country.  Especially when blossoms pop out of the ground, bushes or on trees.

Good morning Belinda. I'm jealous, we don't have anything that looks like that, but that will start happening nest week or I should say may happen.

It always bummed me a little that it took a while for the flowers to come out...and they leave too early!

Thanks for sharing your photograph. We are having a rainy time in Maryland and hope that the rain and wind will not damage the cherry blossoms.

We are really seeing it here. The fruit trees are all blooming. Tulips are coming up and it's looking really nice out there.
