Blooms and hail

Good evening everyone-Spring has come to my neck of the woods and the temps have been beautiful. Lots of the trees are budding as well as beautiful blossoms on the trees and shrubs

I was sitting in the swing in Lindsey's garden enjoying the mild temps and thought I would do a bit of reading. Then the sun came out from behind the clouds and it was too bright to see so I moved over to the swing under the tree on the over side of the house.

I was out there for about 1 hr all told. The sky was turning dark and about 40 min ago the rain, thunder and wind came blasting thru so I went to close the windows.

In addition to the rain, wind and thunder were loud noises on the roof, doors, and windows. I looked out the window to see what the clatter was about.

I knew with it be April it couldn't be Santa. What it was was lots and lots of pea size hail coming down. You can see it in Lindsey's garden where I had been sitting just a short while before.

I took this additional pic of my weeping cherry with the feeders and the beautiful pink blooms and hail on the ground. It was bouncing off the branches .

I also captured the hail by the redbud that has it purple buds on it. They just recently budded so between the pink of the cherry tree and the purple of the redbud it has been colorful.

Now add to it the hail on the ground. Mother Nature is having a crazy evening here. In addition the wind was blowing so hard it came in my bedroom window in my woman cave even with the window closed.  Life is a adventure for sure.

Oh hail Sharon! It is never a good time for such destructive weather patterns, hope your garden withstood those little frozen balls. We almost have our garden planted here and then had a scare of plummeting temperatures. Whew! Nothing to be afraid of, thankfully!

Wanda-That it isn't. Thankfully it looks like everything survived the hail storms. We are due for more strong storms later so hopefully no hail this time. I wouldn't think so with the temps being 69* and headed for 79* today.  Glad your garden is OK as well. Weather can create havoc for sure

Dorie-Any bigger hail would have really created havoc. I am glad it is too. We are having a beautiful sunny weekend and it will extend til Monday.

Sharon, We're about 50/50 on whether we get through our crocus blooming season without hail beating them up.  This year was a good year, we got to enjoy the full blooming season.

It's a true hallmark, or is that "hailmark" of Spring. Mother Nature can be very moody this time of the year. I too was a witness to that storm we had here that Gayle spoke about. Fortunately, I wasn't on the road. It's more pleasant to watch the changes from inside a cozy home.

Happy Sunday, Sharon.

Indeed Debb it is-Yesterday was high of 80 and today high of 65* with rain and it is quite windy. Tomorrow night more rain and then the rest of the month is beautiful temps and sun. Very nice for working outside tidying up the garden.

Happy Sunday to you and Bernie and Mac.

You did a great job with your photos. Soon it will be spring again and time for more unexpected hail storms. I did some spring cleaning in the yard this evening. Daytime temps got up to about 48 degrees.

Lucky and I also had a workout the track. It was fun and what a beautiful day.
