Times change. Technology pushes forward. In 2007 I started the painful learning curve of balancing and using a steadicam to do full motion video walk through tours of homes. I was one of the first in the country, and definitely the first in Charlotte. Now everyone does it.
In 2010, I started another painful learning journey. Learning how to fly an RC helicopter. If you think about it, it SHOULD be easy, right is right, left is left, forward is forward, back is back, etc. But what happens when you turn that helicopter around and come back at yourself? Everything is backwords! Right is Left, Backwords is forwards, etc. And what about yaw? Not ya'll, but yaw! It's not important.
Back then, there was no (affordable) GPS hold and autolevel like the drones of today. Today they practically fly themselves. When I built my first drone (quadcopter or multirotor is the more appropriate word for it), you had to build it from scratch, walking the halls of Lowes and Home Depot's plumbing and electrical departments for suitable parts. You had to solder your own flight controller and learn how to flash the software. Now anyone can just buy a fully built one off the shelf and fly in under an hour.
It's for this reason that you will see more and more aerial. As your customers see it, they will start to demand it (especially for those expensive waterfronts and golf course fronts).
So this first example is done the way I think it should be. Aerial is just the icing on the cake to ground based video and photography. (Best if watched in HD)
In this example, the client had someone else do all the interior photgraphy, and only wanted aerial and ground based video for the outside of the house. (Best if watched in HD)
Either way, nothing socks it to you like seeing an appropriate property from the air. No more renting a real helicopter at $1000/hr for those multi million dollar listings. For just $500 - you can buy a drone and do it yourself, (or so they want you to believe).
