It snowed all day today. It blew across the roads and sometimes blocked my vision so that you could only see a block down the road. It came in waves, too. Oh, and did I mention it was in the mid 80's here today?
This time of year the pine trees add tons of pollen to the air, which is already thick with pollen from every growing thing. You can see it in the air as a yellow haze. It comes down like this for a week or two every year and coats everything. I have had my office window open all day today and there is a fine yellow coating on all my office furniture. Yuck.
But, it will all be gone soon. We are expecting rain tomorrow and that will wash much of this mess from the air. First timers to this area tend to stand and stare at all this mess, much like people do in NY city, staring at the buildings. If we don't push them along, they could become buried in the yellow dust.
Pollen. We get this every year this time and the measuring devices for this sort of thing go off the charts. And as always, it comes to an end just as the weather turns perfect. So, as of today, it is 82 degrees and snowing. The weather really has everyone sniffling. Where is that snow shovel I bought last year?
