It is not often buyers find a community with home prices ranging from the low $100,000's up to more than $1 million. Or one that has a well established university, next to a golf course, adjacent to world class biomedical research labs, and major league baseball spring training facilities.
In Jupiter, those criteria point to Abacoa, a large popular planned community in the southern portion of the city.
With condos priced in the low $100,000's to townhomes averaging in the mid to high $200,000's and single family homes from about $350,000 to more than $1 million, Abacoa has something for everyone. Homes are primarily solid CBS (cinderblock and stucco) construction from the well respected builder DiVosta.
But the community has resources that few can match. The honors college of Florida Atlantic University is based in Abacoa, just next to a popular public golf course. FAU also offers one of the largest and varied educational programs in the country for seniors at its Lifelong Learning Center providing courses throughout the year.
In the same area of the community, the research labs of Scripps Institute and Max Planck Institute have attracted medical researchers from around the world. And if that is not enough, Rodger Dean Stadium provides facilities for major league baseball spring training for the Miami Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals. Minor league baseball is played at the stadium through most of the spring and summer.
Wonderful restaurants, medical offices, shops and recreational facilities are plentiful in Abacos. As a bonus, the community is just ten minutes from the beach, and close to major roadways. The schools attended by Abacoa children are all "A" rated.
