There are many factors to consider when thinking of buying Real Estate Fixer Uppers. My first question to the buyer: Are you an investor or Are you looking to live in the property long term (at least 5 years).
Investors maybe willing and able to face challenges these properties provide. Investor in many cases have the sub contractors in place. Structure, Electrical, AC and Plumbers are very expensive. So you need to have confidence and trust in these area's.
In your purchasing for a work in progress; the questions to yourself:
- Can I live in an on going construction zone.
- Do I have the time to preform the remides as needed.
- Cost-can I really afford these expenses.
- Can I do or do I have the skills, knowledge to make the repairs.
- What will the return on investment be.
There are a lot of Real Estate opportunities in the Metairie and Kenner area to purchase fixer uppers. Supply and demand is a major issue. It is clear that demand for an investment property is strong. So an investor needs to be ready to move fast.
