ATTN: Google Will Favor Mobile Sites - April 15, 2015 - New York, NY

Google does have a flair for the dramatic. They have announced that on April 21 there will be a push to rank mobile friendly websites. That has a lot of business owners shaken up... and rightly so.  Not everyone is set up for mobile and that is where 50% of all web traffic will be coming in from.

Now, Google announced another change. They now claim that the big day will be in April 15th. They made another minor adjustment saying that mobile web traffic will count as much as 60% of all web traffic.

There is still time to take action and to do something about it.....

In the meantime, here is a link from Google to see if you're website made the mobile friendly cut....

**  I will be around to answer questions this week.

I do have drama of my own - however - I seemed to have sprained my knee. I will be back and forth from the doctors but will be in my office and available by phone.

Cheers

They would have had to pick tax day for their new update.  Double whammy!

I've been ready to go for at least the last month. A site that's not mobile friendly is going to lose out.

So you won't rank high tomorrow as you won't be very mobile?😄

Google released two dates... one being the 15th... and another being the 21st. But they are unclear on when it will happen exactly.

Blog & Website Tuning For Real Estate Pros

Regardless if the date is today or the 21st, this can be an opportunity for the prepared. It is pretty incredible that in 2015, any professional organization, especially the Real Estate industry, would maintain a web portal that is not mobile responsive.  In the US, the numbers flipped in favor of mobile browsers as the primary search and research tools.

If your website is not mobile responsive, it is unlikely you will see any of your hard-earned SEO work disappear overnight. On the other hand, when you are competing for as few as 4 first page organic search results, it may not take much to kick you to low second or third page. (assuming you now make Google's first page under existing algorithms.)

The opportunity begins by knowing that the change is here and either updating your web portals or tweak your SEO to take advantage of those who may lose ranking due to the change.

As a WordPress-focused developer, 100% of what I has been mobile responsive since 2008 despite some early resistance from clients suggesting "my clients don't use their phone to...."
