I was getting feedback from agents that one of my listings just didn't have any personality. It is a vacant listing and has been on the market for sometime. No problem attracting people into the home, just no offers....what, with all the competition out there I realized I must make this house outshine the competition here in Menifee.
So I decided to put my homestaging hat on and get to work. What was once an empty listing now has some great personality...I started with the kitchen. The best feature of the kitchen is that it has some fantastic picture windows. I wanted to create a space where a buyer could envision sipping on their morning coffee while gazing out to the fantastic view of the mountainess terrain of Menifee. My home staging design was inspired by a set of hand made wood carvings I stumbled upon in my collection. The set of 3 were handpainted apples in a lucscious red. I added a darling wood kitchen set, painting the chair rails a apple red. I also added a colorful lilly plant as a centerpiece. Wow...does it ever pop now!
From there I decided to add more punches of color and personality with a cookbook and stand on one counter and colorful olive oil bottles on another. I also added kitchen sink accessories such as a soap dispenser and bottle brush along with a small rug. The once bare walls now have 3 small wall trivets and a colorful painting of a vase with flowers. The entire concept was to create a subtle theme, add some life into the space and help buyers envision themselves in the kitchen cooking up a dinner or reading their morning paper while sipping on coffee at the kitchen table.
My sellers are thrilled with the transformation as this was a low-no budget project and really has enhanced the space.
