Today was the Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden Spring Work Day 2015. There was a good turnout but more Volunteers are always needed and welcomed.
We have been fortunate that volunteers for the community show up every year to assist in opening the Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden every Spring and Fall. Two years ago a young man by the name of Ricky Saxten use the Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden Spring Work Day 2013 as his Eagle Scout Project. Several of the Boy Scouts from his Troop, as well as many of his High School friends were their to help Ricky have a successful project. Last year we had the Central Connecticut Soccer team there to assist
Every Spring we open up the Rose Garden and prepare it for the coming season. In the Fall we get the Rose Garden ready for the Winter. There is a lot of work involve in both the Spring and the Fall, but with the help of several of the McCue Mortgage professionals, some of their family member, as well as other volunteers from the community, the work gets done rather quickly.
My Son Matthew who is in the picture to the right and I always try to make it to every Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden Spring Work Day. It is lot of work, and my mussels normally feel for a few days after each work day, but it is a lot of fun to be out there with several of the professional people I work with.
Below are pictures of past Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden Spring Work Day as well as a picture of what the Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden looks like when the roses are in full bloom.
