Money and Springtime

Tax Season is officially over! If you did not file your taxes, I sure hope that you DID file your extension paperwork. If you did file, did you get a refund, or owe Uncle Sam money? I am going to share with you a few tips on how you can save more money in the springtime. Saving now = more $$$ in the future. Are you ready?

•           Stock Up on Frozen Foods – If you have a deep freezer at your home, you can stock up on frozen foods that you will use when Mr. Winter comes. Many grocery stores have sales on frozen foods in the spring because everyone wants to eat the fresh food. If you stock up now for what you will use in the wintertime, you can save a bundle.

•           Add Insulation – No one thinks about the cold when the weather is warm outside, but now is the perfect time to add that extra insulation to the attic. Being that the price will already be cheaper, many retailers offer extra discounts this time of year.

•           Pay off That Debt – Since you just received your tax refund and the money is itching in your pocket to be spent, do you really want to keep debt over your head? If you pay off 1 or 2 of your smallest debts, you will see that you are making progress. This is a great time of year to make a debt resolution….you CAN start to get out of debt, it just takes determination and discipline.

•           Make Your Own Cleaners – This is the time of year when we attempt to clean our homes from top to bottom. But first, you need all of those cleaners. Did you know that you can make your own for pennies, and it will be better for the environment and your pocketbook? There are many DIY recipes that include vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice, and hydrogen peroxide.

The experience to get you to the other side!

Joey,  All great tips for starting off Spring... and good tips for life!  If folks would think more about the debt they are in and make a concerted effort to get out, we would be a happier society.

I learned a couple of years ago that citric acid (lemon juice) is THE BEST bathroom soap scum cleaner in the world.  In fact the better commercial ones have that as a main ingredient.
