What Schools Will the Kids Attend?

If you buy a home for sale in Potomac, the local schools serving this area are thought to be some of the best public schools in the country. In fact, Winston Churchill was ranked in 2013 by U.S. News at the best high school in the state. However, the magazine didn't rank the school at all in 2014 because of a new rating system. The magazine said it considers a school with a higher proportion of students who are eligible for public assistance that is proficient on state tests a "better" school than one in which has a low proportion of those students that does extremely well on state tests. Nevertheless, the magazine said Winston Churchill is ranked very high in terms of college readiness.
