We are excited to report that our Marion County, Florida existing home sales in March increased by 13.4 percent over the same month last year. This announcement was made Wednesday morning by the Ocala/Marion County Association of Realtors.
Here is a fantastic list of reasons why Marion County Realtors are happy with the upward trend in our housing market:
600 closed sales last month, up from 529 a year ago.
Of those, 483 were traditional sales, an increase of 24.5 percent; 104 were foreclosure/REO sales, a drop of 12.6 percent; and 13 were short sales, a decrease of 40.9 percent (THANK GOODNESS)
New pending sales came in at 730, up 13.2 percent from 645 and New listings at 959, up 3.1 percent from 930
The average percent of original list price received at 91.8 percent was up from 90.5 percent as well as a 21.5 percent increase in sales closing with cash
The median sales price was $110,000, up 12.8 percent from $97,500 in March 2014 and Median days for a home to be on the market at 112, down 7.4 percent from 121
The months' supply of inventory was 6.5, down from 7.4 a year ago
