I have read some more critiques of social media lately and one thought is now with so much proliferation of "selfies" posted and also the search for more and more LIKES to a particular page or comment or photo whether Facebook, Instagram, blogging, Google Plus, favorites on Twitter, we who participate are becoming a self-absorbed generation. That is, deriving our BEING OK from the outside world. Before you get labeled an "extreme narcissist" which comes from mythology with Narcissus falling in love with his own image in a reflective pool of water, think of maybe putting this quote into your being for a new way to think. It is from Elisabeth Kubler-Ross:
People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.
KNOW you are ALREADY OK, within, a beauty, the best mirror being your own heart. Your outside is just a shell.
