We Braved the Wind, Cold and Snow and it Was Worth It
It's a typical spring in Western Colorado...at least as far as the weather goes. The weather can be very unpredictable here. After a couple of weeks of sunny days with temperatures in the lower 70s, now we are back to winter. Often times you don't know what to expect with the weather around here.
The wind, cold and snow didn't stop Lucky and I from another trip to the mountains. I think Lucky has almost as much fun on the trip there, as he does when we get there. He didn't seem to mind the cold wind on his face when I opened his window.
We got to our spot in the late afternoon on Saturday. When you have a plush camper to sleep in, and a generator for power, it hardly seems like camping. I was a hardcore camper when I was younger and I use to do a lot of backpacking, too. I now like this kind of camping where you still have most of the amenities of home.
We walked around the woods for while as it snowed on us. A friend of mine was up there with his dog, and the two played for quite a while. Then it was time to warm up. We fired up the generator and started making dinner. Then we turned on the TV and watched a movie. All the while it was snowing outside and the wind was howling, but we stayed nice and warm. The dogs seemed to appreciate the heat, too.
I'm holding true to my promise to take more time for myself. I'm really enjoying these forays into the mountains, but they will be even more fun when the weather settles down.
I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 24 years. I love this area and all it has to offer, and I enjoy sharing what I know about my home. As a REALTOR®, I also love to share my expertise in this area as well. If you need any real estate information for Montrose County, or Delta County, Colorado...please give me a call.
