Busy Market in the DC Area

Busy as a Bee here in DC

Over the years I've spent on ActiveRain, I've learned how different climates have different corresponding slow markets and fast markets. For example, the summer may not be the best time to buy in the hotter parts of the country, while it is a great in the Northeast.

In the DC Metropolitan Area, we have a busy spring and summer market. There are some competing factors, but weather plays a part. Most homes have the best curb appeal when all the flowers are in full bloom. The cherry blossoms, azalea, red buds, and tulips look great right now.

I've noticed that many condo buyers time their purchases differently than single family home buyers. Over the last few years we've had a huge number of condo buyers look and buy in the late summer and fall.

And Now?

The last two weeks have been VERY BUSY at Buyer's Edge and in the DC area real estate market. I had clients looking at a neighborhood in Maryland where there were 6-8 active listings and now they are UNDER CONTRACT - both my clients, and all of the other homes as well. I showed a home in Virginia that had received two offers between the time I called to show them on Friday evening and arrived to show it Saturday morning.

What is happening in your neck of the woods? Are you as busy as bees like we are?

Being in Washington DC in the spring is a great time of the year to be there.

Good luck and success.

It's interesting how the different markets heat up.  Here spring time is always very busy.
