I have access to the MLS and know the community that my new home will be located better than most people. I've negotiated everything in my life and I'm really good at it. Why do I need a Realtor?
- A Doctor has many years of training doesn't operate on themselves.
- An Attorney has been in court defending other his entire career yet hires an Attorney.
- A Teacher has taught for years yet attends classes and learn from other teachers.
You don't know what you don't know. First off, not all homes are entered for the public to see in the MLS. Also, buying a home is not just finding a home and location, it is also knowing the home's history, the schools, the neighborhood concerns, the future value of your investment. There are Title issues that may be hidden or a Mello Roos Bond that you are not aware of. Do you know that even if you buy the home without a Realtor, the Seller's Realtor is going to still make the commission that you think you're saving. The Seller's Realtor, in effect, will become your Realtor and you may not have the representation you need. So not having a Realtor isn't as smart as you may think it is.
