David Jirasek, ALC, CCIM continues education with the "Fracking: Barnett-Eagle Ford-Shale-How to Represent a Client & Protect their Mineral & Gas Rights" course. The oil and gas market can be a confusing component of the real estate industry for anyone who has not had specialized training. Without the proper knowledge, property owners can end up selling or leasing their rights for a fraction of what they are worth. This course is designed to give basic knowledge to real estate professionals working with hydrocarbon rich land in the Barnett, Eagle Ford, and Anadarko-Woodford shale regions. In addition, this course provided an introduction to the basics of oil and gas operations so that real estate professionals may act in the best interests of their clients. The course helps to shrink the knowledge gap between the gas companies and the average property owner by providing information on how to adequately represent clients in these regions.

Good to see courses like this for real estate pros.  I have attended educational courses at the annual conference for the Colorado Oil and Gas Association (COGA).  In some states, oil & gas deposits are considered real property, and may be used in a section 1031 exchange.
