Cranbury Park Trail Map

Cranbury is a neighborhood in the northeast corner of Norwalk, CT. A local community group, called the Save Cranbury Association, preserves the historical and rural quality of this area of Norwalk.

Located in Cranbury is Cranbury Park, which is approximately 220 acres in size. The park features many trails and a full frisbee golf course.  The park also conducts a variety of outdoor classes including, dog obedience, yoga, tai chi painting and photography.

Inside the park lives the Gallaher Estate.   Edward B. Gallaher, was the former owner of the Clover Manufacturing Company (manufacture and sells knitting, sewing, patchwork and quilting tools).

The Gallaher Estate is a 20 room, Tudor style English fieldstone manor house that was built in the early 1930s. The Mansion is very beautiful, with oak paneling, french doors, and stained glass windows.  It is a very popular place to host weddings and community meetings.

At the corner of Cranbury Road and Newtown Avenue is The White Barn Theatre, founded by the late actress Lucille Lortel.   The theatre was created from an old horse barn which has been expanded and renovated.   Lortel wanted to present unusual and experimental plays as well as promote new playwrights, composers, actors, directors, and designers.

Cranbury has excellent schools.  Cranbury is a great place to live or visit!!!

Really love communities that value open space for parks and rec. I wonder if any of the frisbee golfers have their dogs as caddies? :)

Ed-   Car bury is special in many ways - additionally it has amazing schools in the lower levels.   Good real estate values because of that.

Funny you should mention a place I know so well. We go there on Sunday mornings - no pet, just me and hubby for walking. The yellow trail is the longest and has a bit of a hike. In nice weather, they seem to have a small tai chi class on the terrace. Our little Downton Abbey in Norwalk :)
