Mother's Day is very special and San Ramon is offering a couple great events for Mother's Day weekend. First up is Mom's and their fans on Saturday followed by the heart felt sounds of pianist Jim Brickman on Sunday.
May 9th - Moms and their Fans at Forest Home Farms - From 10:00am - 2:00pm. They offer something every 2nd Saturday of the month but this month is a tribute to mothers. Let's get ready to show mom that we are one of her biggest fans. When you get to the farm you can write a letter to mom telling her why she so special and don't forget to bring her along to see some actual fans. I'm not talking about the human kind, I'm talking about the Hand Fan Museum on display with fans dating from 1850s to the 1950s. There are even a few older than that and some featuring mothers and families. You can craft a fan to give to your mom with a letter and of course, tour the Glass House Museum with Victorian glass and the historic Forest Home Farms that's available year round. Each tour lasts about 45 minutes at $5 per person or children ages two and under are free. Something to make note of, they are only accepting credit cards for this event.
Forest Home Farms is located at 19953 San Ramon Valley Boulevard. It was opened in 1850 and features over 16 acres of farms, museums and historical buildings.
Pianist Jim Brickman will be performing on Sunday, May 10 at 7:00 PM at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center located at 10550 Albion Rd. in San Ramon with unique sounds that are truly his own renditions. If you've never heard Jim's music before it truly is something to behold. Not only is Jim funny and entertaining but he's a singer/songwriter so he might take Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and turn it into a complete Symphony masterpiece rendition.
Jim has been performing for decades now and it really is something you should hear. Take mom and enjoy a beautiful night now. Stop in for brunch first at one of the many brunch locations throughout San Ramon and head the concert in the evening. You won't regret it.
Whatever you do, make sure you honor mom this weekend by doing something fun with her or at least let her know how much she means to you.
Have a great Mother's Day and remember, I'm here for all San Ramon real estate and homes in the Tri-Valley area.
