When you're a real estate agent, you get to sell all kinds of properties.    But rarely have I ever had the opportunity to present such a wonderfully loved and tastefully restored vintage home.

Nearly a decade ago, I helped my clients buy this home.    Back then, well, it was kind of a cosmetic wreck with great, old growth redwood bones.    Boy, were they the perfect people to buy it!    Between them, they had the vision and energy to polish this gem.    When they called me within a few months of their purchase to come see the transformation in it's early stages, I was delighted.     But when I revisted the property recently to help them sell it - I WAS ASTONISHED!

Here are a couple of before and after photos just for fun:

Before and After - Living Room

Before and After Parlor

You know, someone spent a lot of time painting that green quilt design on the floor.    While I appreciate that design in theory, don't you think the refinished fir floors look better?

This is such a special home, it's hard to capture everything in writing, but it's worth the effort.

For example, this home has a front parlor and a formal dining room.  There are delightfully charming vintage details like a Cold cupboard in the pantry, an Ironing Board cupboard in the kitchen, and a Built-in hutch with carved details in the kitchen.    There’s plenty of storage with an unfinished basement and attic, not to mention the ample closets in nearly every room.

The classic character of this home has been thoughtfully updated by the sellers with modern amenities like central gas forced-air heat (ready & wired for air conditioning), on-demand hot water heater, drip irrigation, custom wood window blinds,  and tasteful interior paint colors.

French doors open from the family room out to the back patio complete with stone pavers, built in BBQ,  and a hot tub.    There are gated and fenced areas for little ones or pets.    The mature landscaping includes natives, camellias and  fruit trees: (peach & plum), blueberries, plus Raised Garden Beds for growing vegetables.     Just on the other side of the patio is the updated Garage/Carriage House...which they worked to restore all the way to the point where it makes a comfortable home office!

The sale includes *2* quiet street-to-street parcels totalling .4 Acres with All Day Sun.   If you have been looking at property around the Santa Cruz Mountains, you know just how rare this is!    The second parcel (designated vacant) backs to Manzanita Avenue, giving the property an amazing wide open space feeling - ideal for star gazing - especially with the fire pit.

The 1920’s era cottage  is “grandfathered”, and the Amazing, Quiet, Courteous, On-Time Paying 6 Year Tenants want to stay…   Property qualifies for multi-unit metering with PG&E, so rates are lower.

Sellers say the Neighbors are Wonderful, & the Stars are Amazing at Night!

Finally,  last but not definitely not least: there are basements in both residences & extra storage in Attic.

Hope to see you at the open house!    Otherwise, it's shown strictly by appointment only.
