There is so much going on in the world, with the birth of a new princess for England, the incredible rescues which continue in Nepal, preparing for the Kentucky Derby and the long awaited Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight.
What is happening in the Virgin Islands? It's Carnival baby! Today is the last day of St. Thomas' Carnival The adult parade starts in a few hours, it will feature troops both local and the other islands as well. Carnival was kicked off with the Calypso tent on April 4th it will end tonight May 2, with a fireworks display. If you follow the above link not only can you see what the schedule has been like going but you can download the hits that have been inspired by all of the fun. I did participate in J'ourvet which started at 4 am on April 30, it is the party to end all parties in the street that lasts until about noon. I don't have the stamina to party that long any more but it was a lot of fun.
So If you enjoy Caribbean music and a lot of fun, you have three times a year to do so in excess in the Virgin Islands, as each island has a Carnival, St. Thomas in April to early May, St. John's is coming up in July. St. Croix celebrates it's carnival from mid December to early January.
