Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant is a restaurant that I highly recommend. I've dined here many times for the food, good service and special attention that Lency Guzman, owner, provides each patron. I have also written several posts about Mi Casa, but one thing I haven't posted about was a long time battle that Lency fought to get a Liquor License. Lency won that battle a while ago and since this is Cinco de Mayo I thought I'd say a few words about the GREAT Margaritas served by Dineris Ramos Mi Casa's bartender. Do yourself a favor and order any of the premium margaritas that she makes...you will not be disappointed! They are a liquid work of art dancing on your taste buds! Really!!

Anyway, Ed Silva, it's a common mistake, but Cinco de Mayo is actually a celebration of Mexican forces defeating the French in the State of Puebla in 1862. Mexican Independence Day is actually in September.

Nick, as a Paralegal I remember working on liquor licenses last year for an attorney's office doing some temporary work. You aren't kidding. It's very, very tough to get a liquor license because of state, city, and local ordinances. Then even after the license, they have to follow compliance and one bad customer can ruin it all! I hope this restaurant owner has good luck, success, and a prosperous future. It sounds like Mi Casa deserves to be there for a long, long time!
