Outdoor Art Exhibit Promoting Diversity and Tolerance
I first happened upon this amazing exhibit while walking my dogs in 2006 while visiting this magical city called Sarasota. The message of diversity and tolerance was overwhelming and convinced me I wanted to live here. This year marks the 12th anniversary of Embracing Our Differences. In 2014 there were 293,000 visitors, and since 2004 more than 1,900,000. For this year's exhibit there were 6454 submissions from 80 countries, 42 states and 118 schools. Submissions came from other countries far from here like China, Iran and Vietnam.
The 39 billboard size images were created by students, writers, artists based on the theme "enriching our lives through diversity". Embracing Our Differences will remain on exhibit through the end of May 2015. This is a walk through the park that will enrich your experience as well as inspire you.
