Because we live in a rush-rush world that surrounds us with daily distractions, have families to care for; homes to clean and pressing social activities to address, we need some peace. Meditation is nothing new, but we never give enough thought to making it part of our lifestyle. The benefits of this precious time spent in blotting out the world does more for you than taking a sleeping pill or remedies for a headache.
Let’s face it; dealing with all types of clients creates stress. It’s not very pleasant to go to a presentation after speaking with the woman of the house who is so pleasant and accommodating, and then meeting her husband who behaves like a drill sergeant. Our nervous systems are constantly trying to adjust to these types of situations and more.
We can help this however and give ourselves a chance to bounce back to normal by strengthening our spirit. Just take a few minutes out of the busy day to go in the bedroom or any place that’s quiet, close your eyes, breath slowly and drift into a place that has happy thoughts. You might want to think about sitting on an island with a tasty drink all sun-tanned and ready for lunch to be served; gentle breezes caressing you as you listen to the lapping of ocean waves meeting the shore. Past relationships that made you happy and the sounds of happy memories serve well to transport you to a peaceful place. I do this often to revitalize and get ready to meet the world again; happy meditating.
