Reynolds Rd, Monroe NY: Road closure

I have written about Reynolds Road in the past for historical reasons. However, this post is a notice about a road closure. Reynolds Road in Monroe NY is often used as a shortcut for those wishing to go from the Rye Hill / Mine Road area to Orange Turnpike.  Anyone who has driven this way in the past year has seen that work has been progressing on a new passthrough that starts directly across from the end of Mine Road, and exits at the middle of Reynolds Road.  The construction on the new road is nearing completion but in order to finish the work, Reynolds Road will be closed, starting today and continuing for a month or two.

If you get to Reynolds Road and see the closure, you can continue north on Rye Hill Road to Stage Road and then either turn left towards the Gooseponds area or turn right to continue to Orange Turnpike.

Hopefully the work will be done very quickly so area residents will have another option for getting from home to their shopping and business destinations.

Hi Kat.  Great shout out but it sounds like a real pain to those that use Reynolds Rd.

Detours generally take you a long way out of the way in my neck of the woods.

Kat

It's always a mess when they close a road . . . . I hope open it soon and get back to norm.

Good luck and success.

Road closures are such a hassle and this is good information to pass on to local residents to avoid costly delays!

Tammy - It's not too bad at this particular area - the only problem really is for the people who live on the road that is now the "detour" road. They have a lot more traffic than normal.

Lou - I hope so also! I'm surprised that so far I've remembered about the road before I turned in that direction.

Bruce - Thanks for your comment!

Road closures can really create havoc, especially if you forgot or didn't know. And if you live in an area that's under road construction, it seems like you never get home to give you enough time to do all the things you should be doing but can't.

Kat great information, too often when I used to take "short cuts" I found out it took longer to get there because I was not keeping up with what was happening...great public service, hope they fix the "short cut" soon, Endre
