Well, here it is, the big Saturday Night, and I am blessed once again to have my grand-baby here.
He is now 10 1/2 months old. He is now walking with you holding your hands, and crawling around and pulling himself up to stand up holding on to the chair or couch.
What a wonderful blessing he is. He is the best baby, unlike me, I was not the perfect baby.
When you see a baby smiling, it makes you realize how simple in life things can be. What a wonderful reminder for you to take it all in and relax and slow down and enjoy life. Do you remember a time when life's simple pleasures make you happy? I do, and I also realize that I need to enjoy those things more in my life.
That is also what I love most about Smith Mountain Lake. The beauty of the lake, slower pace of life, and a traffic jam there is like 3 cars at a light!! They only got a light a few years ago. Before then it was not needed. The population year round is around 20,000. It is a simple slice of life, with friends, beauty, nature and people.
Smith Mountain Lake is over 22,000 acres with 500 miles of shoreline, nestled in the mountains. I have been around this lake since I was a child growing up. And I remember when it was a non-developed lake. Today there are many subdivisions on the lake, but thankfully it still has plenty of rural areas. undeveloped areas, and lots of trees.
Well, time to put the baby to bed. You all have a great weekend.!!
