Why Craigslist's FREE section is so awesome

Why Craigslist's FREE section is so awesome

The FREE section of Craigslist is kind of awesome.  Why is that?  When you want to get rid of stuff and have someone pick it up, the Craigslist FREE section is for you.

Just list your item(s) with photos and a description including flaws, damage, etc.  You should start getting phone calls, texts or emails pretty quickly.  Soon, the stuff you want gone is being picked up by a person grateful to have whatever you wanted taken off your hands.

When I have clients who want to get rid of stuff before they sell or during escrow, I head over and take photos and list the items for them.  I take the phone calls and texts and coordinate the pick up.

The clients don't get the tax write off, but sometimes the convenience is worth it.

You are correct this is a great place for folks. Another one my clients are finding are some local Facebook community pages. Both are great resources.

Good Wednesday morning Jill Murty, Realtor - Serving Orange County, CA -

We put our leaking hot water heater on the free list on CL.  It was picked up within half an hour with many calling wanting the thing.

Tammy Adams ~ Realtor Maricopa, AZ - I'll have to check out the Facebook community pages, too!

John McCormack - That's what I find to be so fantastic and amazing.  What is trash to you, is worthwhile enough to someone else that they'll come get it.

I would have to agree, it is a great place and I love that it is free.  Some spam and such comes from it, but then again, there is nothing online these days that doesn't come with a free dosage of spam, haha.

Brian England - If you want to get rid of stuff fast and don't want to drive it anywhere, the free category is so useful!

There's definitely spam, not so useful.

I have never used the free section of Craigslist.  Good to know it works for getting rid of things you don't want to sell.

Chris Ann Cleland - I had a client who had a sofa, love seat, etc. where the "leather" was peeling.  She didn't think anyone would want it, even for free.

I posted the items on Craigslist in the Free category and I received inquiries very quickly.  The items were picked up and out of the seller's way.

The seller was happy and the people who picked up the items were, too.

Craigslist, both the 'free' items, and other areas, helped me get rid of nearly everything in my home before moving to CA.  I was amazed at the stuff some people took!

Craigslist is also great to find good murfreesboro home buyers or all sorts of ways to sell your home. That site is kind of a pain if you get flaky people that say they will meet you at a time and place and never show up... Thats a pain, but its worth it.
