I Want The One I Can't Have

Sale Pending

Sometimes I wonder what is going on.

Buyer can buy two houses. One needs some updating and is close to work. The other one is in move-in condition but three times as far.

The first one may only get one offer at best. The other one has been on the market for 35 days. I'm surprised that in this hot market these properties had not been scooped up.

He's not satisfied with either one.

He says to me, "What about that other one that is pending? We really like that one. Do you think we have a chance to get it? Ask the listing agent if we can be back up."

You want the one that's pending?!

(OK, there were a couple of good reasons why he wanted that pending house. But it was pending, under contract, you know?)

I got no call back from the listing agent.

Next two days I get an email saying they've decided to hold off on buying. Thank you for your time.

Sorry that happened to you. People are funny. You never know what their rejection threshold is.

Ernest - Well, sometimes that does happen - buyers want a home that already has an accepted offer. I recently had clients who waited a week after I showed them a home, then decided to make an offer, and by then the sellers had already accepted another offer. My clients were very disappointed, but it was their own fault for waiting.

How frustrating. I just wouldn't have the patience for real estate. It's trying enough sometimes to be a stager!
