Relocation Information from Ohio to Phoenix Arizona

Being recently relocated from Ohio to Phoenix Arizona, I had several questions about everyday matters. I  was not working with a relocation expert, therefore much of the information that I needed was not readily available.

Having been a relocation expert in Ohio, I used the same template for myself that I used for my clients. (whew!!! made my life easier) The information that I have gathered for relocating to Arizona will be presented in a six part series of blogs. The objective for these blogs are to make it easier for others who are Relocating from Ohio to Phoenix Arizona.  This blog will cover step one. (The Visit)

So where to begin???   There are six major steps to relocating.

1.   The Visit

2.  Secure housing (Buy -vs- Rent)

3.  Preparing for the trip

4.  The  Trip

5.  The Arrival

6.  The Difference

#1  The visit(s)

I recommend  that you try to visit at least twice before the move.

Try to make one of the visits in mid summer so you can experience the desert climate.

The second visit should be planned for winter if possible. (It' s beautiful, you'll love it)

What to do while visiting?  Drive around and familiarize yourself with the different areas.

Get to know the highway systems(I-10 runs East and West) , (I-17 runs North and South),  (I-51 runs North and South) , (101 is a partial outer belt which runs North and South on the East and the West sides and runs East and West on the Northern portion of the belt.

Also try to get to know the main streets.

In the center of Phoenix is Central Ave.  From that point if you are heading West of Central Ave, the numbered streets are Avenues.  For example 104th Avenue or 99th Avenue.  If you are heading East of Central Ave the numbered streets are Streets. For example 104th Street or 99th Street.

Another thing that you may want to do is try to visit all four sides of metro Phoenix.  This will help you get a feel for the communities.

Thank you Barbara for your comment. Relocation is never easy especially when moving across country. Having someone who will go the extra step for you can result in lifelong clients.

Hello Kent Temple. Thank you for the welcome. Actually I was a member of activerain back in 2006. I just didn't realize at that time how much other realtors meant to my social life as well as to my business. Being new in real estate, I had no ideal that other realtors were my life line as well as I could be theirs. I have learned over the year to respect and value the knowledge that my peers bring to the table. In other words, I'm back. LOL
