The new year may have come in like a lamb, but it seems to be roaring like a lion now. We are almost midway through the year already. Can you believe it? Here is a rundown of the North Metro Atlanta Market Update for April 2015.

According to the First Multiple Listing Service, a total of 3701 North Metro Atlanta homes were sold between April 1st and April 30th, 2015. That is an 8.8% increase from the previous month and a 10% increase from the same time last year. This is the third consecutive month that we have seen year-over-year increases in home sales.

The average sale price for a North Metro Atlanta home in April 2015 was $304,483. This is a 7.4% increase from the previous month's average sale price and an 11% increase over April 2014. This also marks the third month in a row of year-over-year increases. You really can find a North Metro Atlanta home for sale in just about any price range right now. For example, one property sold for just $5000 as-is. Of course, it needed a lot of work. On the other hand, the most expensive property to exchange hands last month was a 6 bed/8+2 bath, 15,795 square foot, 50+ acre equestrian estate that sold for $3,608,386.
The North Metro Atlanta Market Update for April 2015 shows that sales and prices are on the rise. When the Federal Reserve meets next month, we will find out if interest rates are going to go up.
