Snow in Big Bear in May....Unbelievable

We have had such weird weather this year and this week Southern California was hit with another unexpected storm. It was pouring rain for the past two days but it was so strange to have snow in Big Bear during May.

Snow in Big Bear in May....Unbelievable

If you are looking for a place to live where it is typically 20 degrees cooler than other parts of Southern California and a resort to ski or snowboard 4-5 months a year, then Big Bear is the place to go. Buy a home or condo to live full time or a 2nd home to visit during the cold weather or holidays.

Yeah, more snow up your way means water flushing the bay at this end.  Love Big Bear!  My mother-n-law used to have a place at Dorrington.  Fond memories.

I skied Big Bear when I was a bit younger.

We have snow here, too. This weather is amazing. Our snow is staying mainly way up in the mountains, but we are getting a ton of rain in town. Just a few thousand feet lower.

Kristin Hamilton CA Realtor - what? Snow in MAY in CA? (It's almost rare even in MA!)

Well, I can say, enjoy  or else it will melt in few hours.

Big Bear sounds like a wonderful place to live.  I enjoy snow in Wisconsin, more than most people - but snow is expected to hang around into late spring here.

I love the rain, it is so rare here. But snow in Big Bear in May? It does sound unusual.

Hi Margaret Kapranos

Big Bear is such a nice place to live or visit. I currently have a short sale so I enjoy the drive.

Hi William Feela

They always say the rain doesn't help our drought but still it keeps things greener.

Hi Praful Thakkar

Well of course it is still up in the mountains but should pretty much melt in the next week unless we get another storm.

Hi Inna Ivchenko

Traffic is always a nightmare as people in SOCAL do not know how to drive in the rain too.
