... I am a child of God. That's how my new favorite song goes and I believe it. Now in the fall of our lives as some would say, we are embarking on a new adventure. We have sold our real estate publication to a most capable young couple just last year and now are launching the project we've been working on ever since. Although we're still "silent partners" for a while in Homes and Land of Lancaster County, we have nothing to do with real estate any longer... other than being a real estate owner and observers.
So with that said, here's what we're doing. A few years ago while in my kitchen grabbing a glass of freshly made iced tea, I heard that voice I so often hear say "People will pay money for this tea." I've heard friends say for year, "You should bottle this, I'd buy it." So we did, finally.
After a year and a half of research, formulating, learning about the food and beverage industry, lots of money and sweat, we introduce a Zero calorie and Low calorie 100% USDA organic iced tea called WayTea™. It is a flavor based on the homemade lemon sweet tea we all grew up with here in Lancaster County. The initial offering is 2 flavors, WayTea™ Original with 15 calories per 16 oz. bottle with only 4 grams of pure organic evaporated cane juice (sugar), and WayTea™ Zip with 0 calories/0 carbs per 16 oz. bottle and no sugar or artificial sweeteners.
My mother always had a fresh pitcher of tea on the countertop when we were young but we still went for the sugary sodas more. My attitude towards soda changed one day when my grandfather was recollected in a conversation. My grandfather died 4 years before I was born and I was told they would never forget old Clarence, he always had a Coke in his hand. Wanting more years than the 57 years he had, I decided soda was not a good thing to drink anymore. I looked for an alternative and turned to the iced tea I was making with almost as much sugar as sodas. I found a sweetener called Stevia with 400 times the sweetness of sugar with none of the ill effects, no glycemic index, doesn't promote the bacteria that causes tooth decay etc. instead and experimented until I got a taste I liked.
We just had our first test run bottling and are excited to introduce WayTea™, the WayTea™ Ought to Be!
Now the reason I named this what I did?... at an age when most are thinking about retiring soon, we are refiring with a new passion for bringing healthier alternatives to the marketplace, raising funds for the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth and because 50% of all profits will go to help young boys become real men.
More to come...
