Do you have to Stage in a hot market? Staging in Burlington

By
Home Stager

I was just chatting with a neighbor's daughter. She wanted to know if it was still a good idea to Stage a home in a hot market. She felt that if the 'inventory' was low, buyers would have to buy anyway.

My answer was that even in a 'hot market' with low inventory, buyers would still prefer a home in 'move-in' condition.

Staging is done to help the home appeal to as many types of buyers as possible.

The more buyers interested in a home the better the chances of multiple offers. After all, multiple offers is how the seller can end up getting more than asking. Wider appeal can also mean less time on the market.

Your home still has to compete with the other homes on the market.

Staging covers more than decor. A consult also deals with updates and repairs.Red flag issues still stand out warning buyers to think twice.

Buyers still want the house that gives them the most for their money.

So, yes, Staging is always a good idea when you are putting your home on the market.

So glad you agree Joan Cox

Who wouldn't want to spend less time on the market and get higher offers?

It is smarter to do so, but not necessary to be successful in my experience personally.

I agree with Joan about team effort as such being essential to any good outcome at all really.

If it absolutely needs it! Most of the time its just matter of removing the clutter and putting stuff away that don't to be seen by the buyers!!!

In small rural markets, with a home for under $30,000, price it... no staging needed. Nor is there room for all the layers of players in peddling properties.

Sham Reddy - even decluttering is part of Staging. The Seller can do this with their 'sweat equity' at little or no cost.

Andrew Mooers in my area, rural properties need Staging just as much as the urban properties. Those interior photos on MLS need to attract and reassure Buyers that it is worth the effort to go further out for their dream home. No matter where the home is located, the buyer wants the best product for their dollar. A Stager encourages clients to update and do repairs as best they can within their budget. It's not just decor.

Lets shake things up at your home today!

You gave your neighbor's daughter very good advice.  No one wants to walk into a home they are thinking of purchasing and see $$$ all over the place.

Buyers prefer move-in condition not a long expensive 'to do' list.

This is very good advice for home sellers. Staging should be considered if the home does not already look like a model.

Thank you Roy Kelley

Very few people live in selling mode so Staging helps most sellers.
