A Probate Hearing and a Weird Request

A court date was scheduled for a probate issue related to a property on which my buyer clients have an accepted offer.  My client and I decided to go to the hearing in person.

As we walked down the hall, some ladies commented that they liked my hair.  "Thanks!", I said.  They asked what color it was.  Chestnut?  I said I wasn't sure, but that sounded like a reasonable guess.

My client and I were waiting outside the courtroom and overheard the ladies continuing to talk about the color of my hair. They were discussing whether or not they should ask me if they could take a picture.  They weren't exactly whispering, so my client and I walked over and asked if they wanted a photo of my hair.

They exclaimed "We were just talking about that!"  They snapped a couple of photos of the back of my head and then my client and I stepped into the courtroom.

The probate was approved.  After some procedural items are taken care of, we'll be clear to close escrow in June.  It ain't over 'til it's over, but it looks good for my clients who have been patient beyond measure.

Happily, there's light at the end of the tunnel.  My nice clients can't get into their Laguna Niguel home soon enough!

Well, Jill I would say everything worked out fine and you didn't even have to give up a lock of your hair to the enquiring ladies to keep the contract moving forward!

God created my salt and pepper hair color and I'm sure it can't be duplicated, but I sure hope the probate I'm waiting to clear goes as smoothly as yours is seeming to go.

Tammy Lankford - My husband started going gray when he was a in high school. During the progression to all gray, people stopped him all the time and asked how he did his hair that way.  No one could duplicate his hair, either. 😊

I can't say we always felt good about this probate, mostly due to the lack of information we received being on the buyer side.  We weren't clear on what we were facing.

Once we found the case on the court calendar, we at least knew it was moving forward.  I hope your probate situation goes well!

Bob "RealMan" Timm - Haha!  Good point!

KRISTIE DESAUTELS - Thanks.  Happy clients are the best!  The hair thing was just so weird, but it seemed to be important to them, so why not let them snap a pic?!  I hope I can write more blogs that are read worthy.  Thanks for reading.

Like Bob "RealMan" Timm I don't get any comments on my hair (lack thereof), good thing that bird of paradise didn't leave a nasty bump that would've messed up your hair ; )

Jill that's a cool story!  Glad to hear the sale was approved - awesome!  One time at jury duty I met a great gal but she didn't get on the jury with me. We've been friends for well over 15 years now.  You just never know what goes on in court!!

Probate sales can have a few more wrinkles, but usually they smooth out, and eventually close!

Anna Banana Kruchten - Arizona's Top Banana of Real Estate! - Thanks!  I love that you met a great friend at jury duty.  That's neat.

Myrl Jeffcoat - I think it'll close.  The only way to know for sure is when it actually closes and when it does, you can be sure I'll be blogging about it.

I've had people comment about the color of my gray, but never snap a photo.  That would freak me out.

Chris Ann Cleland -  It was weird, but I went with it.  I would have referred them to the gal who does my hair, but I couldn't be sure if these ladies at court were plaintiffs or defendants.

As long as they have money to pay for their hairdos, who cares, right?
