If you live farther away from restaurants, for example in Mt Helix, you can still hike to the top of Mt Helix and enjoy amazing 360 degree panoramic views from the ocean to Mexico, and to the north and east too. Look for signs posted for the rousing New Year's hike up the hill, too. And the 2nd Annual Star Party happens this Saturday May 23 at 8:15. Come early at 7PM and enjoy live music and your own picnic dinner. Don't forget your telescope-- or astronomers with profession te3lscopes will be available to help interpret the night sky.
If you live in North La Mesa, you can hop on the bright red Trolley, and catch a ride all the way downtown, and you can walk to urban eateries or enjoy the ocean breezes at Seaport Village.
Walk and Talk La Mesa happens every month on the first and third Tuesday at 9AM.
