Millennials in Gilbert?

As many know that follow my blog, I am very proud of the city I live in, which is Gilbert, AZ! It's an amazing town that is situated in the east valley of Phoenix.  Gilbert is known for its suburbia feel and family style living. Downtown Gilbert is an up and coming area that features an eclectic variety of restaurants and shops with St. Xavier College set to open in the fall.  Gilbert also features a plethora of highly rated public schools and charter schools. It is the perfect place to raise a family!

That is why I was amazed to read the article in the Phoenix Business Journal that stated Gilbert topped the list for millennials to live in the valley!  As we know many millennials favor more of an urban feel to their living vs the suburbia type of feel that Gilbert has generally offered in the past.  So at first I was amazed and then I began to ponder that it makes sense.  That eclectic feel favors that of the millennial generation!

When I first moved to Gilbert at the ripe ol' age of 25, there was only chain type restaurants. Blah! I am a foodie at heart that enjoys eating at local eateries.  Now Gilbert features plenty of local eateries such as Joyride Taco or Joe's Farm Grill! I think its great for the town of Gilbert to be awarded one of the best places for millennials to reside! Hopefully Gilbert will continue thrive with more millennials migrating this way!
