TYPros (Tulsa's Young Professionals) is hosting Street Cred, an annual event that focuses on community redevelopment in a specific neighborhood. Their mantra: when no area of Tulsa is neglected, the entire city benefits.

This year’s event will be Saturday May 30, 2015 from 11am-4pm at Fred Johnson Park, 6002 S Riverside Drive. It is free to attend and no RSVP required.

This event is a celebration of all the positive change happening in the 61st & Peoria neighborhood. This TYPros' largest and arguably most impactful event of the year is a festival-like atmosphere and an event that will focus on changing perceptions.

My colleagues and I have organized a table at the event on the topic of "Home Ownership" and the booth will be manned by John Regur and Victoria McArtor from Prime Lending. They will have information available about what types of credit scores are needed, length of time on job, what types of financing are available, how much money is needed for down-payment, types of down-payment assistance available, etc.

Tulsa Realtors who have homes for sale in the area will hold their listing open for some or all of the hours of event. The Prime Lending folks will have a flyer of homes in the area that are participating in the day long open house and individuals can visit as many homes as they choose.

Whether this is the neighborhood in which you are shopping – or if you are even thinking of beginning the home purchasing process, this is a great opportunity to learn about the financing portion of the real estate transaction and meet some area Realtors.

If you are considering selling your home, this would be a good opportunity to see how different Realtors stage and present their listings – and how they greet you and treat you at an open house!

We are focusing on the area of 51st to 71st from Riverside to Lewis - including homes for sale in the Marshall and McClure Elementary Schools.
