Lauraville
In keeping with my series of blogs on neighborhoods in Baltimore City here's the next installment.
Lauraville has always been one of my most favorite neighborhoods in Baltimore City and I think if I was going to move to Baltimore City, Lauraville would be near the top, if not at the top of my list of neighborhoods I would consider living in. Lauraville has a real community feel, a strong neighborhood association, a thriving commercial center with just about everything you would need to thrive and survive without leaving the neighborhood and it’s serviced by public transit and can be easily accessed from major roadways.
Lauraville offers something for everyone, there are smaller row houses, semi detached and detached homes on tree lined streets, walkable streets and friendly neighbors.
Lauraville is located in north east Baltimore bound by Harford Road on the east, Argonne Drive on the south, along Herring Run on the west to E. Coldspring Lane and north along Charlton Ave on the west then following Herring Run again to Echodale Avenue on the north.
Lauraville enjoys an historic designation. Most of the homes in the neighborhood were built between 1910 and 1930 but the community has a history that dates back to at least the late 18th Century. Soon after the Civil War, Lauraville became an official village with it’s own post office and became known by it’s current name.
Today Lauraville is home to many top restaurants such as Clementine’s, a market – The Green Onion and it’s own Farmer’s Market on Tuesdays from 4-8[, from June 2 through September 29 at 4500 Harford Road.
There are currently 28 homes for sale in Lauraville proper ranging in price from $46,999 to $239,900. Over the past year there have been 58 new homeowners in Lauraville. The average sales price is $141,019. There is something for many price ranges for many tastes.
If you would like to buy or sell a home in Greater Lauraville or any other neighborhood I would be more than happy to help you.
