Calgary Luxury Community: Lower Mount Royal
Lower Mount Royal community is located along Mount Royal hill's foot, between 5 St SW and 14 St SW, south of 17 Ave SW. Serving as dividing lines between the lower and upper portion are Royal Avenues SW and Cameron.
In the Lower Mount Royal community, there are still several stately homes standing, although most have been replaced by commercial development, apartment condominiums and townhomes. Among the historical landmarks that still stands in the location is the Anderson Apartments – a classic brick apartment with an incredible birdcage elevator used as backdrop in Jann Arden's 1995 video “Insensitive”. This luxury community is conveniently located near downtown, accessed via 4 St SW, 5 St and 8 St SW.
