The real estate professionals said on HDTV show tonight that the #1 thing to do to sell a home is to STAGE it! The statistics support this as well...my hope is that realtors will understand what staging really is...it is so much more than anything taught in a weekend seminar or on a CD...It can help so many people with the sale of their homes;it should be top on your list when advising your clients...staging helps them, but it also helps you...both benefit!
Melody...I started my own business with the intention of providing AFFORDABE staging...offering different levels, I can work with most budgets...most of the time all my clients will need to spend is 200-350.00...I am learning that realtors think that staging has to cost thousands of dollars...and that can happen...but I hope stagers will offer affordable services to more people so everyone can benefit....and they CAN!
Although I agree staging is HUGELY important... but #1? I totally expected "pricing it right" to be #1, not #2.
But considering HGTV has [seemingly] dozens of 'staging shows' on their network, it makes sense that they would choose that as the #1 biggest mistake. (they don't have any shows on correct pricing!)
